Do’s & Don’ts of Ring Stacking
How to stack your rings in composition?
Stacking rings, also called ring stacking, has become a true art of composition. If this trend is so popular, it’s because it allows expressing personality through unique combinations. But for the result to remain harmonious, there are some simple rules to keep in mind. Here are our do’s & don’ts for successful stacking.
The Do’s: what to do
1. Mixing textures
Alternate the thin rings smooth and link rings like the Goustan ring, to create relief. A minimalist band will highlight a ring set with stones
2. Mix & Match
Dare to mix steel and gold steel: this subtle contrast adds character to your hands and highlights the modernity of your style.
3. Creating a color harmony
If you choose rings adorned with stones or colored zirconiums, make sure to keep a coherent palette. Cool tone combinations (like blue and green) bring a feeling of freshness and serenity, while warm tones (like yellow and orange) radiate energy and brightness. Some bold combinations can transcend these two worlds, for example green and yellow. But if you are not yet sure about your color harmony, we advise you to stay simple with a warm or cool harmony.
4. Respecting balance
A successful stacking is not necessarily loaded on every finger. You can concentrate your rings on two or three fingers and leave the others bare for an airy look.
5. Highlighting a centerpiece
Choose a strong ring as a focus. Take a wide ring or an ornate model, then build the rest around it with more discreet bands.
The Don’ts: what to avoid
1. Overdoing it
Accumulating without thinking can give an impression of overload. Let your rings breathe between each other.
2. Ignoring the shape of your fingers
If you have small fingers, favor thin rings in accumulation rather than too bulky models. Conversely, longer fingers can easily wear voluminous pieces.
3. Mixing all the stone colors
A rainbow stacking can quickly lose elegance. Prefer harmonies of 2 to 3 shades maximum.
4. Neglecting comfort
Your hands move all day. If your rings clash or hinder your movements, reconsider the composition. The style should always remain comfortable to wear.
5. Copying without adapting
Getting inspiration from images is a good idea, but your stacking should reflect your personality. Feel free to create a version of an accumulation that suits you.
Stacking is a way to turn your rings into a truly personal composition. By following these do’s & don’ts, you can assert your style while maintaining a chic and timeless harmony.
