In ancient times, particularly among the Egyptians, amethyst was a symbol of abundance and good fortune. This stone was used during droughts to bring rain. Nowadays, amethyst is known for its soothing and joyful qualities. This stone frees us from negative thoughts, relieves stress and allows us to relax. It is also beneficial for relieving muscular pain.

The formation of mother-of-pearl remains a mystery. It covers shellfish and crustaceans and shines with reflections that are both intense white and subtly multicoloured. The word mother-of-pearl comes from the Arabic ‘naqqarah’. The people of the Persian Gulf traditionally fished for pearl oysters, which enclosed the most beautiful white pearls in their entrails. These pearls were sold to princes and wealthy notables, and the mother-of-pearl that covered the inner surface of the oysters or other shells was used to decorate precious inlays or to make delicate jewellery. Ground into powder, it heals wounds and accelerates healing. The delicacy of its reflections enables our designer to create jewellery full of finesse. It is very much in evidence in our collections, and blends delightfully with all the other stones and brilliant zirconiums.
